ABOUT DOWNTON MEMORIAL CENTRE
Located in the heart of the village, a short walk from shops and local pubs as well as the A338 and bus stop, Downton Memorial Centre is ideal for all types of events. Apart from the main hall downstairs, with stage and kitchen, we now have two well equipped brand new rooms upstairs.
The Centre, home to many thriving clubs and activities including various fitness classes, art, tai chi and the country market, can now also host conferences and other business meetings. Ad hoc events include both children’s and adult parties, film nights, meetings and varied fund raising events.
The main hall can comfortably seat 100 or up to 150 standing. Both the kitchen and toilets are bright and modern. Upstairs is the large meeting room, the Bonvalot, which seats uo to 60 and the smaller, the Centenary, seating up to 40.
Also upstairs is a kitchenette, further toilets and a small office.

The main hall has the benefit of a high ceiling, flexible lighting, good acoustics, a hearing loop and large stage. The well equipped kitchen, with hatch to a separate eating area, includes the use of microwave, cooker and industrial dishwasher. Plenty of crockery and cutlery is available. For the disabled there is a separate toilet and dedicated parking with easy access. The meeting rooms have state of the art AV equipment. There is WiFi throughout the whole building.
