Over the last few years the hall has been through a series of upgrades and improvements including: a new roof, a new floor for the main hall, a brand new kitchen, with cutlery, crockery and glassware for 60, complete redecoration of the main function room and hallway; new heating and new lighting, an audio-visual system with surround sound, hearing loop and ability to play films, or music lists from laptops and smart phones. There is a wireless mic available for lectures/talks. In 2025 the two WCs were refurbished too.
Recent examples of Hall use are: a venue for a twice weekly Bridge Club; weekly Club meetings (Scottish country dancing; model railway club; dog training sessions; music rehearsals for a youth band; table-tennis club). Local resident uses: themed dinners, quiz nights; private parties (birthdays, anniversaries, post-funeral teas, small weddings). Other community uses: acts as our Polling Station; is listed as a Safe Centre in the Warminster Community Resilience Plan; used for occasional meetings by the Neighbourhood Police Scheme.
The Village Hall is crucial to the fabric of our village life.
ROOMS AVAILABLE
One main hall; kitchen (with commercial dishwasher); disabled access WC. Modern and efficient heating allow for all-year-round use. Audio-visual suite for films, presentations and music. The hall has a capacity of 80 standing and up to 50 seated at tables.
FACILITIES
The Bishopstrow Hall is ideal for parties and events up to 60 people. Tables and chairs are available to sit 60 people. The hire costs are low; from £10 an hour (minimum 3 hours).
