The following is an Extract of Community First Membership Rights and Responsibilities
Members of Community First will receive copies of First news, discounted rates for all services or events for which Community First charges and the opportunity to participate in the governance and policy making of a dynamic and forward looking charity.
Group members will be asked to nominate a delegate from within their own organisation to vote on their behalf on matters raised at the Annual General Meeting (Individual members of Community First are able to vote in their own right on their own behalf)
Delegates nominated by group members may be nominated for election to the Executive Committee (Board of Trustees)
Membership will run from 1st April to 31st March.
Consistent with the requirements of the Charity Commission and company law, members (whether Group or Individual) are required to give their written consent to act as Guarantors. In the unlikely event of the liquidation of the company a Guarantor may be requested o make a payment of not more than £1.00. Every member of Community First undertakes to contribute to the assets of the company, in the event of the same being wound up while he/ she is a member or within a year after he/she ceases to be a member, for payment of debts and liabilities of the company contracted before he/she ceases to be a member, and of costs, charges and expenses of winding up, and for the adjustment of rights of the contributories themselves, such amount as may be required not exceeding £1.00
