ABOUT QUAKER MEETING HOUSE DEVIZES
The Quaker Meeting House in Devizes offers a pleasant location away from the noise and bustle of the town. Quakers understand the need for peace and quiet. If you particularly need seclusion, you can be sure your sessions will not be disrupted. In pleasant surroundings next to the Kennet & Avon Canal and close to the town centre. This building offers good facilities in a congenial and harmonious atmosphere with full access and facilities for the disabled.
The rooms can be hired separately or as a whole. Our charges all include using the kitchen to serve food and drink (no alcohol please), however, please let us know if you want to use the kitchen. We have ample power points, folding tables and a flip-chart. There are toilets for men and women with facilities in both for the disabled. The Meeting House complies with Disability Discrimination Act 2005 There is central heating throughout the Meeting House. There is also small secluded garden which lies between the Meeting Room and the canal side and this is also accessible from the Marsden Room.
We have public liability insurance to cover the building and surrounding grounds, but it is the hirers responsibility to take out third party insurance to cover their activity. here is parking space for 12 vehicles and paid parking is available at Station Road nearby. There is a bus stop directly opposite the entrance to Sussex Wharf for bus numbers 273, 272, 49 & 33. Wheel chair access is via the main entrance and into the garden from the Meeting Room.
